What I collect, why I have it, who else touches it, and how to get it back. Written to be read rather than to be survived.
1Who I am
The Ignite Vault is run by Ignite Global ApS, a company registered in Denmark. In data protection terms that makes Ignite Global ApS the data controller for everything described on this page. Christian Matzke is the person who actually reads your emails.
2What I collect
- Your first name and email address. You type these into the form. Nothing else is asked for and there is no payment field anywhere on the Vault.
- Which files you open and which lessons you tick off. Lesson ticks are stored only in your own browser, not on a server.
- Email engagement. Whether an email was delivered, opened, and whether a link in it was clicked.
- Standard technical data your browser sends to any website: IP address, browser type, and the page you were on.
I do not collect payment details, date of birth, phone number, or anything about your health, politics, religion or any other special category of data.
3Why I have it, and the legal basis
| What for | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Sending you the Vault link and keeping it working | Performing the agreement you entered when you asked for the Vault |
| Emails about building an offer online | Your consent, given at the form. Withdraw it any time with the unsubscribe link |
| Seeing which files get used | Legitimate interest in knowing what to build next |
| Keeping the site up and stopping abuse | Legitimate interest in a working, secure service |
4Who else touches it
I use a small number of companies to run this. They process your data on my instructions and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.
| Who | What they do |
|---|---|
| GoHighLevel | Stores the contact record and sends the emails |
| filesafe.space | Serves the Vault files and images. Its servers see your IP when a file loads |
| Google Fonts | Serves the two typefaces the pages use. Your browser requests them from Google, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads |
| Vimeo | Will host the lesson videos once they exist. Vimeo sets its own cookies when a video plays |
I do not sell your data. I do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers. If that ever changed I would have to ask you first, and I am not planning to ask.
5Where it goes
Some of those companies are based outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. Where that is the case, transfers are made under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved safeguard. You can ask me for details.
6How long I keep it
- While you are subscribed, and for up to two years after you unsubscribe or go completely quiet, after which the contact record is deleted.
- If you ask me to delete it sooner, I delete it sooner. That is your right, not a favour.
- Records I am legally required to keep, such as accounting records, are kept for as long as Danish law requires.
7Cookies, and what sits in your browser
The Vault uses no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels from social networks, and no analytics profiling. What it does use is this:
| Name | What it does |
|---|---|
| ignite_vault | A cookie that remembers you are allowed into the Vault, so you are not asked again. Lasts one year. Contains a random value and nothing about you |
| ignite-vault-subscriber-v1 | Local storage. Holds your first name and email so the Vault can greet you. Stays in your browser and is not sent to a server |
| ignite-vault-progress-v1 | Local storage. Which lessons you have ticked off. Your browser only |
| ignite-vault-notice-seen-v1 | Local storage. Remembers you closed the welcome notice |
All four are necessary for the Vault to work as described. Clearing your browser data removes them, and you would then need your emailed link to get back in.
8Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me to:
- Show you what I hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Send it to you, or to somebody else, in a portable format
- Stop or restrict a particular use of it
- Withdraw consent for emails, which the unsubscribe link in every email does in one click
Email me and I will do it. No form, no fee, and I aim to be done inside a month.
If you think I have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, at datatilsynet.dk. I would rather you told me first so I can fix it, but that is your call and not a condition.
9Children
The Vault is built for adults running or starting a business. It is not aimed at anyone under 16, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, tell me and I will delete the record.
10Changes to this page
If I change how any of this works, I will change this page and update the date at the top. If the change is significant, I will email you about it rather than quietly editing the page.
